Selling experiences: how to set up your first Service Space
If your shop offers anything time-based — a tasting, a class, a studio session, a guided tour — you have been managing bookings manually. Phone calls, WhatsApp messages, a spreadsheet, a notebook. It works, until it does not.
A Service Space gives that experience a proper listing with availability slots, pricing, photos, and reviews. Customers find it, choose a time, and book without contacting you first.
What a Service Space is
A Service Space is a dedicated listing for a bookable experience. Unlike a product listing, it has:
- A schedule with specific dates and time slots
- A capacity limit per slot
- A price per person (or per group, if that suits your offering)
- Photos and a description that sell the experience before the booking
Once a customer books, you see it in your bookings dashboard alongside all other confirmed sessions.
What works as a Service Space
If you are not sure whether your offering fits, ask yourself: does the customer need to be somewhere at a specific time, with a fixed number of other people, and does it end? If yes, it is a Service Space.
Common examples: coffee tastings, cooking classes, wine evenings, pottery sessions, guided store tours, private styling appointments, art workshops. Less common but equally valid: a weekly reading group at a bookshop, a candle-making evening at a gift shop, a skincare consultation at a beauty studio.
Setting it up
Name and description: Describe the experience the way you would describe it to a friend. What happens, how long it takes, what is included in the price, what customers should bring or wear or expect.
Photos: Use photos from a real session if you have them. Customers book experiences partly because the photos show them what it actually feels like to be there.
Pricing: Set your price per person. If you offer group discounts or private bookings at a different rate, create separate listings for each.
Slots: Add your upcoming dates and times. You can set the same weekly slot to repeat, or add one-off dates for special sessions. Set a capacity for each slot — Vyete will close bookings automatically when the slot fills.
After you publish
Share the listing link the same way you share your product listings. Customers who book see the details in their account. You see confirmed bookings in your dashboard. No messages, no spreadsheet, no back-and-forth.
